I overcome discouragement by recalling positive memories.

Life is a series of changing seasons, some that I love and some that I simply accept. I rise above discouragement by reminiscing about happier times and knowing they will come again.
Regardless of the season of life I find myself in, I know that I am loved and valued. I have family and friends who adore me more than I can ever know, even if they are unable to show it right now.
I refrain from questioning my abilities or my worth during seasons when I struggle. There is a time for everything under the sun, a time to succeed and a time to learn from my weaknesses. I embrace both types of seasons with grace.
Even though life’s seasons change, my happiness is constant. My joy comes from within, not from the outcome of my current situation.
Sometimes, discouragement tries to creep its way into my mind, but I keep it from taking hold. Instead, I fill my mind with thoughts of past success. I remind myself that I am talented and loved even when it looks like I am lost.
I keep a journal of happy days to record times in which I shine. On days when I feel low, I pull out the notebook and allow myself to relive these moments.
Today, I choose to remind myself of my value by recalling specific instances in my past when I felt loved and worthy. I rise above disappointment, knowing that before long, I can again feel valuable and capable.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. How can I keep track of my happy days so that I can recall them easily when I need to?
2. When was the last time I felt happy and loved?
3. Why is it valuable to remind myself of better times?
